With Apple’s move to Intel, buying new hardware raises a slew of new issues for educational purchases. Things like whether to order new Macs that are Intel or Power PC now or whether to wait till there is a universal version of Mac OS X and everday classroom applications; how to most easily manage multiple Mac OS X deployments until there is a universal version of Mac OS X; and which departments or grades should get Intel Macs or make do with existing (or new) Power PC machines.
